Myself, DL Hughley and my partners Stu Miller and Tim Greenberg were delighted to be recognized by the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences for our show, DL Hughley: The Endangered List. Here’s a video of me smiling like a moron.
Well, color me surprised. My hour long special, “DL Hughley: The Endangered List” was honored with a Peabody Award. Quite an honor a for a show that myself and my partners managed to do on weekends with a scrappy crew and just about no money. I’m well on my way to a PEGOT!
Listen. It’s not everyday someone gets honored with an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences “Television With a Conscience” Award (I’m just gonna call it a “Consc-y”). But today is that day. It’s also probably the day you’ve first heard of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences “Television With a Conscience” Award. But myself and my partners are totally jacked to be nominated and we expect that our competition – The Newsroom, Parenthood, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee – are totally going down. Especially you, Ellerbee. That Consc-y is ours…OK, so there are no winners really, but still this is kinda cool.
