In case you hadn’t heard the incredible news, myself and two of my fellow Daily Show producers just premiered our new one-hour special on Comedy Central, DL Hughley: The Endangered List.  It pretty much changed the entire comedy landscape.

And so naturally we had to do a ton of press.  But we were very selective.  Which is why we only granted access to the comedy geniuses at Splitsider.  If you’ve never heard of Splistsider you’ve obviously been living in outer Mongolia or something.  Or maybe you just don’t read a lot of comedy blogs.  But either way, this is a can’t miss interview where we talk about everything from the challenges of being three Jewish white guys in comedy to worrying about how we may have gotten a neo-Nazi fired.

I was tickled to be at the Emmy’s and join my fellow Daily Show cohorts on stage as Jon accepted the award for our 10th consecutive win for Best Variety Show.  It was an honor to suck in my gut on national television next to some of the greatest people I’ve ever worked with.

Also, based on my brief appearance on stage, my beard was offered a new NBC sitcom deal. Look for it to star opposite Matthew Perry in next season’s “The Beard and Dr. Fishpants.” Perry stars as a world famous doctor haunted by the murder of his wife, so he teams up with my beard to find the killer.  Together, they fight the allure of their obvious chemistry and stumble upon the government’s secret cure for beard cancer.

Here I am recording DL Hughley’s voice overs with my fellow directors, Tim Greenberg and Stu Miller.  While we may look like the most Jewish boy band in history, this is actually us putting the final touches on DL Hughley: The Endangered List, a brand new one hour special for Comedy Central airing October 27th at 11PM. 

“What is The Endangered List’ you ask? Good question. It’s a road trip comedy doc starring DL Hughley, as he travels across the country collecting evidence to try and put the black man on the Endangered Species List.  From South Central, to Detroit to Washington DC, DL urges lawmakers to join his cause and be “Bro-Life.” Won’t you be Bro-Life, too?

Myself and fellow Daily Show producers, Stu Miller and Tim Greenberg are proud to announce our new 1 hour special on Comedy Central starring DL Hughley.  DL Hughley: The Endangered List, follows DL Hughley around the country as he tries to put the black man on the Endangered Species list.  It airs October 27th at 11PM.  IT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK AT PUTTING PEOPLE ON THE ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST.  To the left, you’ll see DL Hughley hard at work putting the final text messages into the edit.
